In 2022 the US President Joe Biden signed the CHIPS act, an industrial strategy to build more computing chips in the United States and advance leadership in Artificial Intelligence. This has been compared to the US Governments investment in going to the moon.

Germany 🇩🇪

The German government, although notoriously slow when looking at new technologies, has sprung into action on AI. It has put together a comprehensive national AI strategy, which emphasizes increasing future competitiveness, guarantees responsible development and invests 5 billion euro by 2025.

China 🇨🇳

The Chinese government have announced an ambitious program to become the worlds major AI innovation center by 2030. The nation ranks number one globally in the number of academic publications in the field of AI, with much emphasis on military and surveillance technology.

Microsoft

Microsoft has developed a partnership with Open AI. Open AI is one of the leading AI research companies, and built Chat GPT and GPT-3. OpenAI runs on Microsoft Azure (Microsoft's cloud computing platform), and Microsoft has invested heavily in the business, and plans on using OpenAI's technology with their services.

Microsoft also owns Github (a code hosting service), Github CoPilot (an AI code generation tool), and Visual Studio Code (a widely used Code editor). A massive part of Microsofts stated strategy is to become indispensible to Software Development. AI is a huge part of this plan.

Google

Google also has invested heavily in AI. Notably with their purchase of DeepMind, an AI research lab. DeepMind has helped Google optimize energy costs in their data centers, to improving their core search business.

Deep Mind have done cutting edge research in the field of biology with with AlphaFold2 and have modeled one of the worlds most complex games, with AlphaGo. DeepMind is the premier lab for Artificial Intelligence research.

Google has also invested in co:here, a developer tool to help integrate language tools onto websites.

Amazon

Amazon has also been active in the AI space. Amazon Web Services (Amazon's cloud computing platform) runs SageMaker, an AI platform.

They've also built a partnership with Stability AI, which builds open source AI tools, like Stable Diffusion. Stability is an Open Source competitor to Open AI.
